Each of the Figure frames has two archers plus three torsos that can be modelled with a number of different weapon options. There are seven different heads to use across the five figures on each frame to give variety.
Figure Frame

The archer figures are moulded in firing positions so there is no flexibility with these two guys n each frame.

The set also contains two Command Frames each of which provide parts to assemble an officer and a musician or standard bearer.

The average soldier of the late Roman Empire could be found serving on the frontiers of Britannia, Germania or even in the east in Syria.

By this time in Romes history many of the legions comprised of auxiliaries recruited from a variety of vassals and allies, including Germanic tribes such as the Franks and Goths.

Sculpted by Bob Naismith.

This boxed set comes with sixteen 20x20mm bases, two 20x100mm bases, two 20x40mm bases and two 40x40mm bases from Renedra.

Gripping Beast - Dark Ages Archers

Box Art

Inside you will find parts to assemble 30 finely-detailed archers.

The Dark Age Archers may be used in a range of armies from the Dark Ages, such as the Goths, Saxons and more.

Parts from this box are compatible with most parts from all other Gripping Beast box sets so you can do many, many conversions.

Figure Frame
As an be seen from the picture of the frame above, you only have three body poses and three heads to attach to the bodies, so a limited number of combinations. The figure requiring the Bow hand to be added does allow for some conversion opportunities.

Dispite the limited number of poses a useful set and one that will provide missile troops for many an army.
